Meet Angela Garland

Angela Garland is a nonprofit manager, community advocate, and elected Cherry Creek School District Board Director who has spent her career building partnerships, stretching limited resources, and delivering real results for families. She is running for Arapahoe County Commissioner to bring smart, effective, common-sense leadership to one of America’s fastest-growing counties. Angela is known around our community as a leader who listens, solves problems, and wants to build a community where everyone can put down roots and thrive.

Arapahoe County is growing quickly. With growth comes pressure on housing, transportation, public safety, and the cost of living. Angela is stepping up because county government should quietly make daily life work better: safer streets, attainable housing, stronger small businesses, and services that are easy to navigate. She believes in evidence, transparency, and public-private partnerships that expand opportunity for working and middle-class families.

Accessible, affordable, quality housing

Angela will expand affordable housing development and help working families move from renting to owning.

A leader who listens to us

Angela has proven herself as a leader who listens and serves our community with integrity.

Experience that delivers.

Angela brings decades of experience turning ideas into programs that serve real people, reduce wasteful spending, and produce measurable results.

Nonprofit leadership and community engagement: As Director for Scouting Colorado, Angela oversees community engagement, building strong relationships between community leaders and our next generation.

Program management at scale: Angela has directly managed large staff headcounts across multiple sites, built partnerships with local businesses that fostered community growth, expanded access to Colorado universities, and supported faith organizations who serve as a source of inspiration and support in these often confusing and frustrating times.

Youth and education advocacy: Her work spans Friends First, Great Education Colorado, and Girls Inc., where she developed curriculum, launched advocacy workshops, recruited and trained volunteers, and expanded academic and cultural opportunities for students.

Community-facing skills: She has deep experience with grant writing, budgeting, forecasting, data reporting, and equity implementation, always tying decisions to the impact on families.

Angela’s story is one of direct impact and an inexhaustible sense of duty. Not willing the sit back, Angela will roll up her sleeves and dive in directly. Because our county faces real issues and we need an engaged leader who will serve our voices and support Arapahoe County as it grows and our economy evolves. Angela has proven time and again that when the going gets tough, she digs in.
