Priorities
Angela’s Priorities for Arapahoe
Arapahoe is one of the fastest growing counties in America. That means we face real challenges in affordability, housing, and maintaining our Colorado way of life.
Arapahoe, let’s tackle these challenges head on. Together.

Accessible, Affordable, Quality Housing
As a candidate for Arapahoe County Commissioner, my primary focus will be on making the dream of home ownership a reality for working-class families. I believe that stable, affordable housing is the foundation for strong communities, and I am committed to ensuring that our local government creates opportunities for hardworking people to own homes, build wealth, and secure a brighter future for their families.
By supporting policies that promote affordable housing development, provide down payment assistance, and simplify the home buying process, we can empower residents to achieve the American dream while strengthening our community from the ground up. Together, we will make home ownership attainable for working families.
Expand Access to Quality, Affordable Healthcare for Colorado Families
As your County Commissioner, I will prioritize the physical and mental health of our neighbors. It’s essential to have robust preventative health programming in our community starting at childhood and aiming to support all of our residents as they age. In addition, we need to ensure that our medical professionals have the tools, training, and support to treat everyone no matter their economic background.
By strengthening our public health infrastructure and collaborating with local healthcare providers, we can safeguard the well-being of our residents and respond swiftly to health challenges, ensuring that everyone has the support they need to age confidently, grow old with dignity, and be supported in times of crisis.
Address the Causes of Homelessness & Make a Meaningful Impact
As your County Commissioner, I will work to address homelessness with a comprehensive, compassionate approach that focuses on understanding its root causes. It’s essential that we connect individuals with the services they need, whether that’s access to job training, mental health support, or housing assistance.
By evaluating the underlying causes of homelessness on a case-by-case basis, we can better tailor solutions that truly help people get back on their feet. We must ensure that no one falls through the cracks, providing pathways to stability and a second chance for those who need it most. Together, we can build a community where everyone has the support to thrive.

Let’s reduce traffic, lower accident rates, and end the endless commute.
Long commutes not only increase stress and reduce time spent with family, but they also contribute to road congestion and safety risks. By evaluating our current infrastructure, we can make strategic improvements to create more walkable neighborhoods, expand public transit options, and explore the possibility of a community shuttle system. These changes will reduce traffic, lower accident rates, and give residents more time to enjoy their lives outside of endless commutes, making our county a better place to live and work for everyone.
Protect our open spaces. Grow sustainably.
As County Commissioner, I will champion community planning that prioritizes walkability, biking accessibility, and vibrant, sustainable growth. By designing neighborhoods and subdivisions with easy access to trails, parks, and local businesses, we can enhance both the economic vitality and the aesthetic appeal of our community.
I’ll work to ensure that commercial and retail spaces are thoughtfully integrated into residential areas, creating hubs that foster local entrepreneurship and offer residents convenient, attractive options for shopping and recreation. This approach will not only improve quality of life but also attract investment, strengthen our local economy, and create a more connected, healthier community for everyone.
Improve Public Safety, Strengthen Social Services
We need a balanced public safety system that includes an efficient judicial process, effective prevention programs, and comprehensive support services. This means investing in opportunities for our youth, strengthening social services, and expanding mental health resources to prevent crime before it starts.
Additionally, we must ensure that our fire departments are properly staffed and strategically located to respond quickly to emergencies. By working collaboratively across all areas of public safety, we can create a community that is not only safer but also stronger and more resilient for everyone.
Support Local Businesses & Become the Small Business Capitol of America
As a County Commissioner, I will work tirelessly to foster strong business partnerships and create public-private collaboration opportunities that drive economic growth in Arapahoe. By attracting and supporting businesses of all sizes, we can ensure that our community remains a vibrant hub for innovation, job creation, and investment.
It’s crucial to build an environment where businesses thrive, whether they’re local startups or established enterprises. By strengthening partnerships with both private sector leaders and public institutions, we can ensure Arapahoe County continues to be a great place for businesses to grow, creating new opportunities for our residents and enhancing our county’s economic vitality.
